COVID-19 Prompts an Offer from GE Digital

March 19, 2020
In offering temporary remote monitoring licenses to existing customers, GE Digital is hoping to help support industries as they make difficult staffing decisions during pandemic.

As efforts continue to protect public health and slow the spread of the coronavirus (or COVID-19), workers in all industries are increasingly being asked to work remotely to ensure business continuity.

In responses, GE Digital is offering free Remote Monitoring and Control licenses to its iFIX and CIMPLICITY customers, empowering them to work remotely and continue to keep their plants running during this difficult time.

The web-based solution gives plant operators and management teams real-time monitoring and control access to plant operations and performance over a secure-by-design connection such as VPN. This allows critical infrastructure to operate with a reduced crew on site, while being able to coordinate with their wider teams remotely.

The hope is to make it easier for mission-critical industries including water and wastewater production and distribution, food and beverage manufacturing, consumer packaged goods and pharmaceutical companies to continue providing vital services to communities.

By enabling mobile workers, industrial companies are better able to ensure the safety of their workers while continuing to serve their customers.

Companies interested in a no-cost temporary license can send a request to [email protected] and provide the following information:

  • Your existing GE Digital Customer Service Number (CSN)
  • Name and Email where you want the temporary software and license emailed
  • The specific rroduct and quantity that you need (Proficy Webspace for iFIX, iClient Thin – Terminal Services, iClient Thick, Proficy Webspace for CIMPLICITY, CIMPLICITY Viewer with Terminal Services option, CIMPLICITY Viewer). For iFIX configuration assistance, refer to the iFIX Configuration Guide or your local representative regarding your specific requirement needs.
  • If you are emailing your request to our Support organization ([email protected]), please use “Temporary Remote Worker License” in the Subject line.
