Software Helps DuPont Win Manufacturing Achievement Award for Operational Excellence

July 21, 2009
Burlington, Mass.-based Aspen Technology Inc. announced that the use of its aspenONE software helped DuPont win Aberdeen Groups Manufacturing Excellence Achievement Award for Operational Excellence in the Process Industries.

DuPont was selected from more than 200 companies for demonstrating top performance in critical operational metrics, according to Aspen Technology.

Aberdeen Group based its selection on the results of its industry benchmark study, which measured companies against four operations metrics: manufacturing schedule compliance, perfect orders, overall yield and overall equipment availability (OEE).

Use of aspenONE systems at more than 100 manufacturing locations was noted as a critical success factor in DuPont winning the operational excellence award.

DuPont used aspenONE's integration infrastructure to standardize critical workflows and data integration between SAP and aspenONE -- another critical factor in helping DuPont achieve its operational excellence goals, according to Aspen Technology.

"aspenONE's manufacturing visualization and analysis tools are now widely used in DuPont," said Rolando Zamora, division engineer-process automation systems, DuPont. "The global rollout of AspenTech's real-time performance management and enterprise integration solutions is helping DuPont to seamlessly connect our manufacturing systems with our business systems such as SAP across the enterprise. This allows DuPont to successfully navigate the dramatic fluctuations in the global economy by allowing us to make sound and information-based business decisions quickly."
