French Industrial Output Show Strong Rebound

Up 2.3% in November compared to 0.8% drop in October

French industrial output rallied sharply in November, expanding by 2.3% from activity in October when it fell by 0.8%, the official statistics institute INSEE reported on Jan. 10.

Output by the manufacturing sector, which excludes construction and mining activity, also rose by 2.2%.

In the three months from September to November, output by the industrial and by the manufacturing sectors rose by 0.6% from output for the previous three months.

Output by the manufacturing sector for the latest three months was 4.9% higher than activity in the same period of 2009.
