British Manufacturing Output Up 0.2% in April

Second monthly increase

Manufacturing output advanced for the second month in a row after a revised monthly gain of 0.2% in March, which was the first increase since February 2008.

Output in April was down 12.7% on a 12-month basis, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said on Jun3 10.

The ONS said a wider measure of industrial production, which includes mining, quarrying and energy, increased 0.3% in April from March, but was down 12.3% year-on-year.
