Ingersoll Rand to Become a U.S. Department of Energy Save Energy Now Leader

Dec. 3, 2009
Program focuses on on-site energy reductions in the industrial sector

Ingersoll-Rand announced on Dec. 3 that it has voluntarily pledged to reduce the companys energy intensity by 25% over the next ten years. The pledge is part of the Save Energy Now national initiative sponsored by the Industrial Technologies Program within the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy.

The program, which focuses on on-site energy reductions in the industrial sector, including in manufacturing and industrial operations, buildings and non-manufacturing facilities, provides participants access to selected DOE resources to improve industrial energy system performance and facilitate project implementation.

"Our pledge in support of the Save Energy Now program is consistent with the aggressive targets we have established for our global operations," said John Conover, Ingersoll Rand senior vice president.
