Cigarette manufacturer Altria said Thursday that it will shutter plants in Illinois and Pennsylvania, affecting about 580 jobs.

About 200 of those jobs will be transferred to facilities in Nashville and Altria’s headquarters of Richmond, Va., and available to workers from the closed plants.

The Limerick, Penn., plant makes Black & Mild cigars and Middleton’s Cherry Blend pipe tobacco. The plant in Franklin Park, Illinois, makes smokeless tobacco products including Copenhagen and Skoal.

ABC News has a full story on the plant closures.
