Compiled ByDeborah Austin To share real-time supply-chain information with suppliers, aircraft engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney Canada Corp. (P&WC) has launched an eBusiness Supplier Portal. Through the new portal -- customizable to individual users' needs - registered suppliers can use seamless collaboration with P&WC for real-time responses to questions and transactions. Functions and features include 36-month forecast visibility, daily visibility of requirement schedule changes, interactive promise date management, transportation routing and packaging instructions, supplier quality performance metrics and training documentation and tools. The portal is fully integrated with PW&C's back-end systems such as ERP and document management, for instantaneous information updates. PW&C, Longueuil, Quebec, is a subsidiary of $27.9 billion technology products company United Technologies Corp., Hartford, Conn.
