Toyota said on Feb. 2 its U.S. sales dropped 8.7% in January. The recall led the company to suspend the sale of eight of its most popular models last week.
Toyota said the sales suspension which began on January 26 impacted more than 60% of the Toyota Divison's inventory.
Sales at the Toyota division saw its monthly sales drop 12% from a year earlier to 83,279 vehicles.
Sales at the luxury Lexus division however were up 14.2% at 15,517.
