American Axle and UAW to Resume Negotiations

Talks begin again April 9

On April 9, American Axel & Manufacturing Holdings will resume negoations with the United Auto Workers as reported on April 8 by Rueters.

The resumption of talks came after a meeting on April 7 between UAW President Ron Gettelfinger and company CEO Richard Dauch.

The strike by union workers at the auto parts supplier began six weeks ago. Talks broke down on March 11.

The strike has idled production at some 30 facilities operated by General Motors Corp , which accounts for about 80% of American Axle's sales.
