Tax Relief Will Spur Economic Recovery and Job Growth Says Industry Group

NAM praises House action as bipartisan bill heads to White House.

The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) Executive Vice President Jay Timmons issued the following statement on Dec. 17 on House passage of the Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization and Job Creation Act of 2010:

"Manufacturers are pleased the House put the economy first and passed this critical tax relief with no amendments. These much-needed incentives will spur investment, economic growth and job creation. We urge the President to sign the bill immediately so manufacturers and the broader business community can have some certainty moving forward.

To provide even more of the certainty our economy needs to grow and create jobs, these important tax provisions need to be permanent. The NAM has been a leader in advocating for these tax extensions, including the R&D credit, 100% expensing and tax relief for small businesses.

We look forward to continuing to work with Congress and the Administration on tax policy that will make the United States the best place in the world to headquarter a company, to manufacture and to innovate."
