Yasukuni Enoki, the Japanese Ambassador to India, wants to strengthen manufacturing ties between Japan and India and suggested the nations develop a growing partnership between their technology institutes according to an Aug. 9 report on moneycontrol.com

Speaking at the Indo-Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Enoki talked about training Indian workers in Japan. For instance, he said that Toyota India would soon start a program under which it would give textbooks and other teaching material to select Indian engineering institutions, in the area of automotive technology according to the article.

Enoki also called for a "massive co-operation for revving up India's manufacturing" that includes "effective utilization of Overseas Development Assistance (that India received) in improving manufacturing infrastructure."
