Kraft (IW 500/69) is voluntarily pulling millions of boxes of a dinnertime staple from shelves.
The company is recalling about 242,000 cases of its Original flavor of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese Dinner because they may contain pieces of metal inside the box, according to its press release.
Those affected will have "Best When Used By" dates of September 18, 2015 through October 11, 2015, with the code "C2" directly below the date on each individual box. However there were some boxes included in multi-packs containing different codes.
Kraft says it's received eight complaints from customers who found metal pieces among the macaroni. So far, there are no reports of any injuries.
Along with stores in the U.S., affected batches were also sent to Puerto Rico and some Caribbean and South American countries. Canada is not part of this recall.
Mac and cheese dinners affected were sold in these configurations:
7.25 oz. box, Original flavor
3-pack box of those 7.25 oz. boxes, Original flavor
4-pack shrink-wrap of those 7.25 oz. boxes, Original flavor
5-pack shrink-wrap of those 7.25 oz. boxes, Original flavor
