A new report, "Pharmaceutical Distribution: The Supply Chain Market Analysis Report," details activities of the international pharmaceuticals supply chain and pinpoints areas of future-growth potential. While contract research organizations are handling drug marketing, distribution firms may have a wider potential range for vertical and horizontal integration, says the report released by Drug & Market Development. Opportunities are emerging in supplying value-added services to pharmacies and health-care providers, says the study -- including collecting and analyzing market data, offering information-technology related services, and delivering health care. Because of their impartiality regarding products, supply firms are better positioned than drug firms to become involved in this high-value activity, says the report. Drug & Market Development Publications is a division of Westborough, Mass.-based IBC USA Conferences Inc.
