After Emerson Electric Co. publicly offered to buy National Instruments Corp. for more than $7 billion, the company has begun acquisition talks.
Emerson is optimistic that these conversations regarding the public proposal will lead to the purchase of NI.
Emerson had previously offered to take over NI in private last May but received “only limited engagement,” according to Emerson executives.
Emerson looks to add a portfolio of test and measurement equipment along with an expanded customer base with the transaction.
