Dr. Timothy Laseter to expand role in firm's management and help facilitate search for permanent replacement.

Supply chain management and operations firm Censeo Consulting Group announced today the appointment of supply chain and operations expert Dr. Timothy Laseter as acting COO.

The new position expands Laseter's long-time role on Censeo's board of advisors to include working with management and advisory board members to guide operations, define and scale business processes and facilitate strategic planning, decision making and performance management. Additionally, he will assist in the firm's search for a permanent COO over the next year.

"Having worked closely with Censeo's management team over the past five years, I've had the opportunity to gain an insider's view of the business, a real appreciation of Censeo's core values, and a sense of the enormous growth potential ahead for the firm," Laseter said. "I am excited to contribute in my new capacity."

Laseter brings more than 20 years of consulting and research experience, which has shaped his modern and pragmatic view of supply chain management and operations.

Formerly a vice president at Booz Allen Hamilton, he is the author of Balanced Sourcing: Cooperation & Competition in Supplier Relationships (1998), which has been published in English, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese. He is also co-author, with Ron Kerber, of Strategic Product Development (2007).

"As a veteran senior board member, [Laseter] has made invaluable contributions to the firm, and I fully expect him to augment both the exceptional value we provide for our clients and the exceptional workplace we provide for our staff," said Raj Sharma, President and CEO of Censeo. "Furthermore, [his] appointment and our continued search for a permanent COO are testament to Censeo's sustained growth and commitment to building a preeminent, enduring consulting firm."

While fulfilling his new role, Laseter will continue to serve as a visiting lecturer/adjunct professor, teaching supply chain and core operations management at a number of top business schools, including the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business and the Tuck School at Dartmouth.
